Andrew Marston and his development company Robotmother wanted a dream project with sustainable bespoke features. ZEDfactory was given the task as leaders in the field of zero-carbon design and development. High performance, durable and easy to maintain windows with an ‘intelligent’ low energy were sought to suit this type of high performance building envelope.
Rationel flexible product range and their commitment to taking a positive step towards an eco-friendly lifestyle was a huge consideration in the design approach. The product range, combined with the ability to stack into glazed elevations, clean lines and timber construction of the doors and windows both add merits to the scheme. The bespoke service offered by Rationel draws on the company’s wealth of experience in product design and installation, to provide an efficient and problem-free installation throughout the construction process. This ensures Rationel products operate effectively providing the best performance levels and meet the client’s requirements.
Rationel timber comes from sustainable sources where the trees are grown naturally. The "Domus" product range supplied by Rationel offers high levels of thermal efficiency, sustainability and durability yet retaining the natural beauty of wood to create a visually attractive building essential for this project. Rationel will advise and make recommendations on interface details between the company’s products and the main structural integrity. The lifespan of this product is at least 60 years and the hardware is concealed to allow a more uniform appearance and a longer lifespan to provide high energy performance. It meets standards for weather protection, storm proofing and energy efficient UK building regulations.
"Rationel was very professional with approach to design, order and delivery; very reliable and efficient."
