Lagan Homes, an award winning developer, specified windows and doorsets from Jeld-Wen for Upton Square, a development of energy-efficient properties in Northampton. The development of one to four bedroom homes and apartments was built to meet the stringent requirements of level four of the Code for Sustainable Homes, with the doors and windows required to achieve a U Value of 1.4W/m²K.
Jeld-Wen fully reversible timber windows, DreamVu™ patio doors and Swedoor front entrance doors were specified for all of the 140 properties on the site. They were supplied with a hi-build factory finish in Dusky Grey, Gardenia or Conservation Green, to enhance their aesthetics and prolong their lifespan. All ground floor windows and doorsets were supplied to meet the enhanced security specification against intruder attack approved by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).
Long-life, low maintenance, secure, energy-efficient windows and doors in a range of colours.
Craig Hutchison, site manager at Lagan Homes, said “It was really important that the windows and doors on this development complemented and enhanced the local area. Timber windows were a planning requirement and we worked closely with JELD-WEN to ensure they met the very strict U Values required on this development. Residents of Upton Square will benefit from homes that not only look good, but also minimise their energy bills.”
